The greatest gift a person could ever receive is the gift of eternal life. Eternal life is a gift that only comes from God. It is a gift that forgives our sin, restores our relationship with God and delivers us from an eternity in hell, which the Bible calls eternal death, or eternal separation from God. The reason that God can forgive us is because He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to this earth to make the perfect sacrifice for sin by being crucified on the cross. Because of that, anyone who will acknowledge their sinfulness and turn away from sin and trust Jesus Christ alone for salvation is granted the gift of eternal life. Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” (John 5:24)
